Teaching Kids Cleanliness

As a parent I know I am responsible in teaching my kids about cleanliness. And with cleanliness, I do not just mean being clean with your surroundings but also personal hygiene.
As soon as I realized that my 2 year old could understand what I am saying or asking him to do, I taught him how to put his (and his little brother’s) dirty clothes in the hamper and their soiled nappy in the bin. Now, I also try to teach him to pick up their toys or any clutter that is on the floor.
But there is more to cleanliness than picking up the clutter or arranging their stuffs. Cleanliness, more importantly starts from keeping your body clean.
As a simple routine, everyday after dinner I’ll be bringing the kids in our room and get them ready for a shower or sponge bath. I would prepare their toothbrush and personally brush their teeth. After I do it, I’ll give them their toothbrush and let them finish the job while I prepare their bath. My two year old would say “Feet” asking me to scrub his feet clean.
Some kids would hate bath time because they don’t find it pleasurable (what with water and soap running down their eyes). But if they are trained from day one that bath time is fun and good to keep you clean then they would pick that routine until they grow old.
