Babies No More...
May 11th 2008 06:11
How time flies... Just now I am watching my babies walk about, play and do their stuff. My youngest just turned one and he has really developed too quickly. Just a week ago, before his first birthday he could barely stand for more than a minute and falls on his bum after attempting a fifth step. Now, he could stand bravely on his own and walks about as if he's a pro.
My eldest on the other hand likes spending time in his own room already. Why wouldn't he? There, he can bring every piece of toy out of his cabinet and scatter them on the floor almost tripping all over them. If he's in our room, it's not this and not that... pick this up and pick that up. He's more independent and at liberty of what he wants to play with when he's in his own turf.
Separately, they could amuse themselves with toys and games. Together, they also enjoy playing rough games or simply mimicking one another's sounds and movements.
Watching them always brings a smile to my face. I might not be a perfect mother, but I think I've done alright. They are both happy babies (except, of course, for times when they have tantrums which is normal). Hearing both of them call me 'Mama' gives me a sense of success.
My little ones may not be little babies no more, but in my heart there is always a memory of them where they are still the little babies I carry in my arms and lull to sleep.
